The Chora of Naxos is a wonderful little old town surrounding the Venetian Castle of Naxos, opposite the magnificent Portara. A stay in Chora, or close to Naxos Marina, is a great solution if you are on the island for a few days or do not plan to rent a car.

Where to Stay in Agios Prokopios Beach, Naxos
Not far from Naxos Chora, Agios Prokopios is a small seaside village about 5 km from the center. There are frequent buses connecting the village to Chora. A taxi will charge about €7 for a ride.
In the evening, you can walk along the seaside promenade or stop for dinner in a taverna opposite the sea. Agios Prokopios is a great place for a vacation, home to one of the nicest beaches on the island.

Better known for the remains of the 12-meter-long Kouros, a male statue left abandoned in the area hundreds of years ago, Apollonas is a small fishing village with a couple of tiny beaches that attract those holidaymakers who want to relax and disconnect in this less popular area of Naxos.
