Naxos Town: Where to Stay in Chora
The Chora of Naxos is a wonderful little old town surrounding the spectacular Venetian Castle of Naxos, right opposite the magnificent Temple of Apollo.
A stay in Chora, or close to Naxos’ Marina is a great solution if you are staying on the island for a few days only or if you do not plan to rent a car.
Choosing to stay in this area will allow you to reach some of the beaches nearer to the center, and be close to the best tavernas, restaurants, and bars in town.
It will be easy to visit the museums as well as to enjoy Naxos nightlife. To reach beaches such as Agios Prokopios or Agia Anna, you can either walk or take the city bus.

Where to Stay in Agios Prokopios Beach, Naxos
Not really far from the center of town, Agios Prokopios is a small seaside village about 5 km from the center.
There are frequent buses connecting the village to Chora while a taxi will charge about €7 for a ride.
In the evening you can walk along the seaside promenade or stop for dinner in one of the popular tavernas opposite the sea.
Agios Prokopios is a great place for a vacation, home to one of the nicest beaches on the island.

Apollonas is a small town on the northern coast of Naxos, about 35 km from Naxos Chora. Better known for the remains of the 12-meter long Kouros, a male statue left abandoned in the area hundreds of years ago, Apollonas is a small fishing village with a couple of tiny beaches that attract those holidaymakers who want to relax and disconnect in this less popular area of Naxos.
