Other Areas to Stay in Serifos
When choosing where to stay in Serifos, it’s evident that you will consider key features such as proximity to amenities and beaches. However, you should not limit yourself to booking a hotel in the most popular areas on the island.
Serifos is relatively small and easy to travel around by car.
So, if you’re on a budget and want to beat prices, or simply if you’re looking for a more relaxed corner, you should check out these places considered a bit off the beaten path.

Located on the island’s western side, Megalo Livadi is a historic area with an old mining settlement. The remnants of abandoned mines add a touch of industrial history to the landscape.
There are also a few tavernas and a small beach in the area.
The mining activities between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries played a crucial role in the region’s development and Serifos’ wealth.
Today, the abandoned mines and structures add a distinctive and somewhat eerie charm to the landscape. The mining activities, particularly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, played a crucial role in the development of the region.
Megalo Livadi has a relatively secluded sandy beach with clear waters where the combination of natural beauty and historical elements makes Megalo Livadi Beach an intriguing destination.
Like many coastal areas in Serifos, Megalo Livadi offers beautiful sunset views.
The changing colors of the sky as the sun sets over the horizon create a serene and atmospheric experience, especially against the backdrop of the old mines.

This less touristy area is ideal for those seeking a quiet retreat. The village’s main highlight is its beautiful sandy beach, relatively unspoiled and with crystal-clear waters for swimming.
The simplicity and authenticity of Koutalas contribute to its charm, making it an appealing destination for those who appreciate a more rural environment that has managed to preserve its traditional character.
The hilly terrain surrounding Koutalas offers opportunities for hiking and exploring the natural landscapes of the island’s interior.
The lack of extensive tourist infrastructure enhances the feeling of being in a more authentic and untouched part of the island.
