Nice is home to the third busiest airport in France and is easily accessible from most major cities in Europe, North Africa, and a few countries in the Middle East.
Romantic by nature, it is the perfect place for couples who want to experience something truly special and unforgettable and explore one of the most beautiful regions in France.
Having lived here for a while now, I have gathered some of the best and most delightful things to do in Nice for couples looking for a little inspiration. Here are some incredibly romantic things to do in Nice.
Walk Holding Hands Along the Promenade des Anglais
Promenade des Anglais is one of the most picturesque spots in Nice. The iconic seaside walk is known for its breathtaking views and sunsets, making it ideal for romantic moments with your special someone.
Also, along the Promenade you will find many wonderful restaurants right on the beach – my favorites are Opéra Plage and Le Temps d’un Été.
A great way to explore the entire length of the Promenade is to hire a bike, in-line skates, or scooter. There is a designated cycle lane to ride in full safety.
Go Wine Tasting in the Surroundings of Nice
There are several amazing vineyards and wineries located within driving distance of the city, making it a great spot to learn about local wines while enjoying each other’s company (if you are not driving, it is also possible to go on a tour from Nice!).
Rosé is a specialty in the South of France, but there are many other varieties to experience too.
Check out these wine-tasting tours from Nice:
Visit the Cours Saleya Flower Market
Marché aux Fleurs in Cours Saleya is a colorful and vibrant market in the old town of Nice.
Take a romantic stroll among all of the colorful flowers, then purchase some for your loved one as a surprise.
Apart from flowers, here you can also purchase souvenirs, spices, and fresh produce from local vendors. And if you are feeling hungry… share one of the popular dishes from the Riviera! In the market, there are wagons selling local delicacies such as La Socca a delicious chickpea flour pancake, cooked in a wood stove on a copper pan.
Admire Masterpieces at the Musée Matisse or Musée Marc Chagall
Nice is home to several wonderful art museums. Spend some time admiring the works of Matisse, Chagall, and other modern artists.
The Musée Matisse is located on the hillside of Cimiez and houses some of Matisse’s most iconic works.
Musée Marc Chagall provides a look into the works of Chagall and also has a wonderful little café in the garden that is definitely worth visiting.
Explore Old Town (and Don’t Forget to Share Some Gelato!)
Vieux Nice is one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of town and exploring it is definitely one of the best things to do in Nice.
Take a stroll together through the winding streets and visit some of the charming cafés, shops, and eateries. Also, don’t forget to try some delicious gelato at Fennocio — it’s one of Nice’s most popular treats.
Enjoy Intimate Dining at La Femme du Boulanger
There are many good restaurants to try in Nice, but for a romantic dinner, I really recommend La Femme du Boulanger.
This quaint, homey restaurant is the perfect spot for a romantic candlelit dinner. Sample local specialties like Socca, Pissaladière, and Salade Niçoise while enjoying each other’s company.

Spend a Day at the Beach Relaxing Together
Nice has several beautiful beaches that are perfect for sunbathing and taking long walks.
The one at the promenade is obviously the most popular, but there are some nice secluded spots to be found if you explore a bit further.
If you have the time, I recommend hiking the Sentier du Litoral from Nice to Villefranche-Sur-Mer and stopping on the incredible beaches you’ll find along the way.
Sail Together
Wouldn’t you love to enjoy an unforgettable experience on the water as you take in all of the amazing sights of Nice, St Jean Cap Ferrate, and Villefranche Sur Mer from this unique perspective?
It will certainly offer great opportunities for bonding and making great memories!
Go to an Outdoor Café in Place Masséna
Enjoy people-watching and sipping coffee or tea during your romantic rendezvous at Place Masséna.
Olim Massena, Moka-kfe, and Monsieur Albert Masséna are great options!
Take a Cooking Class Together
A cooking class is not only a great experience but will also allow you to reproduce delicious Mediterranean dishes at home.
Les Petit Farcis offers cooking classes and also market tours weekly. You can learn how to make traditional niçoise specialties like socca and pissaladiere and then enjoy them for dinner.
Learn How to Make Perfume!
Nothing more romantic than giving the person you love a bottle of their favorite perfume… Wouldn’t it be even more romantic if you made the fragrance yourself? After all, nobody would know what suits him/her better than you, right?
This unique experience takes you on the unique and luxurious adventure of perfume creation, play through your sense by having access to a hundred essences, and finish your day with an exclusive bottle of your personal scent!

Watch the Sunset from Castle Hill
Witness the amazing colors of Nice’s sunsets from an incredible vantage point atop Castle Hill, Nice’s most popular park.
From here, you will be able to enjoy the most romantic views of La Vielle Ville, the oldest part of the city.
To enjoy the old town even more, I suggest checking out the area with a local guide. These are the most convenient and best-rated tours:
