The Tiny Book: A New Beginning…
A New Chapter for The Tiny Book

If you’ve been traveling with me for a while, you already know that The Tiny Book was never just a website. It began as a small, heartfelt project — a place where I could share the beauty of Greece, especially Crete, through the eyes of someone who had fallen deeply in love with its landscapes, traditions, people, and rhythm of life.
Over the years, it grew into much more.
It became a trusted companion for travelers planning their first steps in Crete, a digital notebook, and a corner where stories, guides, village discoveries, and cultural insights lived side by side. From mountains to humble kafeneia where time moves slowly, The Tiny Book documented that spark you get when Greece welcomes you in.
For over a decade, this space was dedicated almost entirely to showing you the Greece I’ve experienced and loved, and especially the island that shaped so much of my work: Crete.
We explored archaeological treasures, beaches washed by sunlight, winter escapes, traditional crafts, the Cretan mindset, and corners of the island rarely featured in glossy brochures. You trusted my words, relied on my itineraries, and sent messages about how a recommendation led you to a moment you’ll never forget.
And because of that connection, I want to share the next chapter.
The Tiny Book Is Evolving

Travel changes us — not only the journeys we take, but the way we relate to the world over time. I’ve changed, too. My interests as a writer, photographer, and traveler have expanded. My life has shifted, and the way I experience travel today is richer, deeper, and very different from when this site was born.
All of that has led me to a natural conclusion: The Tiny Book is ready to explore a broader vision of travel.
This doesn’t mean abandoning Greece or forgetting what built this community. It simply means that the heart of this blog is growing. The stories I’ll tell here — the reflections, guides, and insights — will reflect a more diverse journey. Travel for families, travel with young adults, soulful travel, creative travel, slow travel, and pieces of life that shape how and why we move through the world.
What remains unchanged is the core of this project: curiosity, authenticity, honesty, and a deep respect for place.
What Happens to All the Greece Content?
Here’s the part longtime readers always worry about, so let me reassure you right away:
Nothing is disappearing.
Not a single guide, recommendation, beach list, itinerary, or personal story.
Everything has simply found a new home — actually, two new homes — that are easier to search, navigate, and organize:
Crete Content → Now at Crete Insider
All the Cretan guides you loved — from villages to beaches to seasonal itineraries — live on at Crete Insider, a platform entirely dedicated to the island.
It’s built to be cleaner, faster, and more structured so you can plan your trip with confidence and ease. There’s room there for even more depth, more local insight, and more storytelling, and that’s exactly what will continue.
Greece Destination Guides → Now at Greece Planner

Everything about Greece beyond Crete — Athens, Peloponnese, islands, itineraries, planning tips, hotel guides — is now housed on Greece Planner.
Think of it as the complete toolbox for organizing your Greek holiday, step by step.
By separating the content, each site can grow with clarity and purpose, without overwhelming you with endless categories.
A Third Branch of the Story: My Cretan Recipe
Some of you already follow my food blog, My Cretan Recipe, a space dedicated to traditional Cretan cuisine, regional Greek dishes, and family recipes rooted in local culture. If you’ve ever wondered why Cretan food tastes the way it does, or wanted to cook the dishes you tried on holiday, My Cretan Recipe is where you’ll find everything — stories, recipes, seasonal dishes, ingredient guides, and little pieces of culinary heritage.
It’s the delicious companion to everything I’ve written about Crete’s culture.
You can find it at: My Cretan Recipe
Together, Crete Insider, Greece Planner, and My Cretan Recipe carry forward everything that made The Tiny Book what it was.
Thank You for Walking This Road With Me
This next part is the most important.
I want to say thank you — truly, deeply.
You have been here through every version of this project. You’ve read, commented, shared, emailed, recommended the site to friends, and returned year after year to plan your trips and even to discover my town, Chania, with me!

You made The Tiny Book more than a blog.
You turned it into a community — one built on trust, connection, and genuine curiosity about Greece.
I will always carry every message you sent after a trip.
Every story of a beach you found because of an article.
Every “thank you, this guide made our holiday unforgettable.”
Those memories shaped this journey.
This isn’t goodbye — it’s simply a new road
The Tiny Book isn’t closing; it’s shifting. Expanding. Becoming something that reflects the traveler — and person — I am today.
If you’re here for Greece, here’s where you can now continue the journey:
- 👉 CreteInsider.com for everything Crete
- 👉 GreecePlanner.com for Greece-wide travel
- 👉 My Cretan Recipe for Cretan and Greek food stories and recipes
And here, on The Tiny Book, a new chapter begins — one rooted in everything we’ve shared but open to new places, new ideas, and new ways of traveling.
Travel stories never truly end. They find a different path, a new horizon, or a fresh way of guiding us forward.
Thank you for being part of the story so far.
I can’t wait to share what comes next.
