Stavros is a small sandy shore about 20 minutes from the center of Chania. It has  shallow clear green waters and it's perfect for children.

Facing the Libyan Sea the village has sandy and pebbled beaches, some of them are organized.

Kedrodasos is an impressive off-the-beaten-path beach, very close to Elafonisi, hard to access but incredibly beautiful!.

Loutro is a tiny village with a small pebbled beach with crystal clear waters. The access is mainly by boat or hiking along the coastline.

Located in the region of Apokoronas, the small village of Georgioupolis has a main well-organized beach and a few other more solitary shores.

Glyka Nera is a wide bay, mostly pebbled, with clear deep waters. Parts of the beach are devoted to nudism. You can get there hiking or by boat.

Platanias is a fairly big beach and seaside resort which extends all the way to the next beach of Agia Marina.. It is very popular and only minutes from the center of Chania

Frangokastello is a wide sandy shore in South Crete with a Venetian fortress by the sand and fairly shallow waters, which makes it a great shore for kids.
