The Greek islands are famous for their stunning waters and beautiful beaches stretching for miles in every direction. Paleokastritsa is not any less.

This beautiful village boasts six individual beaches located just 20 minutes away from the city center of Corfu on the northwestern side of the island.

There are several beaches you can visit in Paleokastritsa, the best-known one is Agios Spyridon. Although it is often crowded, it’s without any doubt the prettiest of all.

The beach is fairly well organized, with a parking area and a taxi boat station. This is the only sandy beach in Paleokastritsa, therefore the best one for families.

Kids loved the color of the sea on this beach.

Although Paleokastritsa beaches are often described as the coldest on the island, they are certainly superb, and most people don’t seem to care about the temperature of the water once in the area.

All of the beaches offer the possibility to practice water sports, and you can also rent umbrellas, motorboats, and even canoes.

Some Paleokastritsa beaches can only be reached by boat, so it is a good idea to start exploring Agios Spyridon.

The palace has been beautifully restored and is now home to stunning statues depicting various Greek gods (that fascinate kids and adults alike!), ceiling frescos, and beautiful architectural examples from the nineteenth century.
